TOKYO — Actress Aya Ueto, 23, attended an event in Shibuya on Sunday to promote her new drama "Konkatsu!" which starts on Monday at 9 p.m. Ueto co-stars in the Fuji TV drama with SMAP leader Masahiro Nakai, 36, which revolves around Nakai's character trying to find a spouse after he lies in a job application saying he is married.
On Sunday, Ueto and models wearing wedding dresses that Ueto helped design handed out 5,000 small candies in the shape of bouquets to people gathered at the Seibu department store and passing by. Ueto told the crowd she hoped to help people lead fulfilling and happy married lives, and conveyed her hopes that the new drama would be well-received.
Ueto also said that in between filming the drama, she, Nakai and other members of the cast talked a lot about their love lives, but added she couldn't divulge that information in public. She added that Nakai is a "very considerate man and a really nice person."
